conveyancing and property
Solicitors have always dominated the conveyancing process. Why, because it involves a comprehensive understanding and practice of the law relating to land and all the matters that affect property. We are specifically trained and educated in this area of law and practice.
Does that mean we have taken advantage of what was once almost a virtual monopoly? No, because for many years fees were fixed until Parliament realised that the result of competition would be to reduce fees rather than lead to pricing up. The profession has responded well to all the influences coming to bear in keeping up to date in an ever complex and demanding area (Stamp Duty Land Tax is one recent example) by continuing to be competitive in performance and price. However, price is not everything.
We at Thompson Leatherdale believe that the more efficient we can be the more likely our clients will be less interested with just the cost and be concerned instead to see that their work is transacted with as little delay hassle and problems as possible. At every point you are kept informed and totally involved.
If you are presently considering a purchase, sale, re-mortgage or transfer of equity after sale, ask us how we will deal with it, what it will cost in total and how we can help you with all the incidental matters that will be just as important as the contract, the mortgage and your completion.
